Inspiration

Story after story after story! My life is filled with stories.
Blank page after blank page after blank page! My journal lies dormant.
The stories are in my thoughts. They are in my heart. They are in my actions. They fill me with joy and comfort because they are the pages of my life that the Author of my Faith is writing day by day. He has a heavenly journal and He keeps the record for me safely in a place where rust and dust cannot destroy the account. It is a truer account than I could possibly write because the Author is also the Finisher. My days were written before any of them came to be! Like Sophia says, “It is a mystery!” I’m glad Jesus knows all the details because I love a good story and one day I want to hear ‘the rest of the story’ - all the things I was unable to perceive at the time of its writing.
Jesus told His Father, “I have come to do your will!” My heart bursts with that same longing and desire to accomplish my purpose here on earth. What a joy it is! Did I say, “How easy it is!” No, I did not. That is beside the point. But joyful, yes! Delightful? Yes. The Psalmist says, I delight to do thy will, O my God! Yea, your law is within my heart.
I have been studying the book of Hebrews. No wonder there needed to be teachers of the law. Do you know how complex the ceremonial procedures for daily living and for staying ceremonially clean were?
Not anymore. God has given us His Holy Spirit to dwell within us. He writes God’s love and perfect law of liberty into our hearts. One of the many, many, many things the Holy Spirit does is to inspire us! I love looking up definitions of words. Today I felt keenly inspired and so I looked up the meaning of the word inspiration. It was what I thought it was - a God breathed, God inspired action that moves us to some sort of creative response. That is if we allow it to move us to thought and action! It is always fresh and new and revitalizing. It is something that we breathe in. That’s right. Stop a moment and just breathe it in. Life!
