Scribbles: Cut From The Same Cloth

We believed God

Distance and time.

Time and distance.

Twenty years pass.

Friends drift apart.

And then one glorious connection reunites two hearts.

Present happens and time and distance have no power.

Hearts were always united.

Nothing has changed.

Many things have changed.

How do you explain the bond of friendship?

Especially in Jesus.

Lynne came into my life the hour I first believed. She was my constant companion during 1971. We lived together until I married Bob. We took our first baby steps in the faith journey that has now been our road for forty years.

We spent 8 glorious hours together last week in California. It was like reading a continuation of a novel with each chapter and page bringing fresh insight and discovery into each other's lives. It was not enough time. There is never enough time. Our friendship is eternal.

A really special aspect of this reunion was that we met at my mother in law's home as a launching point for our day. I realized that this was where we got ready for my wedding ceremony forty years ago. I had to make sure I got a photo of us together in the same dressing room that we occupied then.
