Tea for Two?

The sun has finally decided to shine and it feels so good. Bob has returned from his  trip to Vietnam and I've just spent a delightful week with my eldest daughter Sara as she came to keep me company. I drove her to the airport today after our brunch and upon my return home I decided to luxuriate myself in the sunshine. Check out the scarf I am wearing. Sara learned to crochet while she was here and designed her own pattern for this scarf and then left it as a surprise for me in the guest room with a lovely Mother's Day card. How sweet was that?
I have just spent the last three weeks of April in solitude as my honey ventured out doing his VWAM work. It was a precious time for me in many ways. I especially enjoyed getting romantic emails and I wouldn't mind receiving more even though they would only travel up the stairwell instead of across the ocean.

On the day Bob left I received a phone call from our daughter Laura. She and Christopher had decided that they would like to move back to Maple Ridge. You KNOW what that meant, don't you? It meant that I was having one of my biggest prayers answered - to have one of my daughters and grandchildren nearby. The bonus is having a son too, but you know how we grandmothers are about the babies! Bob had an email waiting for him as soon as he got off the plane in Saigon with the news.

It also meant that we would prepare a place for them to stay for a season. We have a lovely guest room but it is about to become a lovelier apartment. We had already decided that we wanted to do this renovation but this meant we would be doing it sooner rather than later.

This was not the only major change that happened. The same day that Laura called, Gina also called with the news that they had put an offer in on a house in a different neighborhood.

I am happy to report that both families put their houses on the market and both sold them lickety-split. What blessings are being bestowed.

Sara was not only great company for me but when her dad returned last Friday she put her expertise to work and decorated her dad's den and office space in the way that only Sara Brown and Co. can do! It looks awesome. She also fully planned the apartment onto a blueprint. We have had a good chuckle though and have decided that creative designer people have a hard time reading instructions. (For instance, that is why my scarf became it's own design). So now creative Daddy has to follow the plan of attack. It's such a small space so it will be worth following it as every inch counts. I think I will be a little jealous of the new kitchen that is planned. Laura will have to have us in for dinner, that's for sure.

I can't tell you how happy I am to envision little Sophia playing in Grampa's garden this summer. We have so much to look forward to.

During this past month my nephew got engaged, my niece had a baby girl, another niece opened a retail store, my sister moved to Portland - the list goes on and on. I had mentioned the winds of change a few posts back and I wasn't kidding. Life is so full. It's all good!

I'll end with a pic of me and Sara. We didn't get one when we were all gussied up but we had Bob snap one of us this morning at brunch.

I miss my girl!!! Thanks again, honey.
