Liz's premise was that although she learned a lot from the more virtuous women she found she had more in common with the ones who were less than virtuous. Some were Bad to the Bone, some Bad for a Moment and still others were Bad For a Season, but Not Forever.
We know that all Scripture comes from the breath of God and is useful for us to receive teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)
The Joy Club has decided to grab our veils and to open up our Bibles to some of these bad girls. We are using our veils for fun but also for a symbol.
The Bible teaches that when you come to Jesus Christ the veil that separates us from God is removed and we, with unveiled faces can become a reflection of His glory. So literally we are putting them on so that we can symbolically take them off. We do not have to wear a mask but we can become more authentic even in our imperfection as we allow change and growth in our hearts. It's not about being good and it's not about being bad cuz let's face it, we're all a little bit both depending on if we are having a bad hair day or not. It's really all about what Jesus has done for us and how we can embrace our humanity and Christ's divinity and become all that we can be as daughters of the living God.
Perhaps I will be able to share some of these stories and lessons in the weeks ahead as we launch into the spring and early summer study that we have chosen.

Hmmm....I always surmised that veils were a sign of oppression in women....but the photo of each lady gazing through her jewel studded finery adds a flair of mystery that is compelling.
