The Party's Over....

My week seemed so quiet after the high energy of putting on a bridal shower. It's been a good week and hard to believe that the weekend is practically upon us again. Daddy didn't see pictures of me in the last post so I thought I would add them today. Check out my handsome husband with our daughter Radica.
I have to confess that Babalinda is one year older as of Sunday and Monday followed by Pa Troy on Tuesday. We never seem to catch up to him but we are getting closer. Mom used to say that I was the rose between two thorns as I've always shared my birthday with the men in my life. We had a lovely cake on Sunday in honor of Bob at church and we continued on with the two day yard sale that brought in about two grande. Those quarters and loonies really added up! The weather was fabugorgeous and remained for my birthday on Monday. We planned to go to West Van and walk the sea wall but ended up going out to Regent College Library where we each bought a bag of theological books! Book worms we are and we were like kids in a candy shop. We had a lovely Mexican food dinner on Broadway and ended our day by watching the new movie "The Women." What a good husband I have! He's been surrounded by daughters and as you can see through the hareem pictures I attract a lot of women around the house so he's used to girl chatter. We both enjoyed the movie. Bob bought me a beautiful new Brighton watch.
You know that Bob got auctioned off at our fundraiser? He pulled in $3,000 for the church by offering himself as a gardener. So now he is paying the piper and has been working very hard this week (as always). One of his 'clients' is on holiday but she will receive a lecture when she returns home for adding hundreds of foreign plants to the original garden Bob put in for her. She's not allowed to do that anymore. It's all good.
This weekend we will attend a wedding as GUESTS!!
On the family front - my grandaughter is on a hunger strike which has carried into a sleep strike (catch Beck's blog on the left) but they had really good news that Chris' brain tumor has shrunk. We are rejoicing. The Woods have flown to Berlin, Germany (or Ermany as Samuel says) for a week of sightseeing and visiting sister Naomi and cousin Nathan. Sara is holding down the fort in Calgary working as hard as ever. She will host us when we visit at Thanksgiving and Dave has that week at home so we are looking forward to our time with them. I hope Dave feels the same way about his in-laws coming!
Sister Melanie and Skip are heading to Japan to visit cousin Nathan's sister Bethany and husband Brian. You can see Beth's post on the left (jetsetting). I wish them a wonderful time!

I hear rumours that the cousins are planning a big get together (there are 22 of them!) That makes me so happy. Don't worry, the aunties and uncles aren't planning to crash anything. It is wonderful that the tradition of family carries on. This is how it happens. It doesn't just happen. You have to make it happen. It takes time, money and commitment and it is worth every ounce of energy expended. You go, cousins!!!!

Laundry day today.......Me

  2. Nice pictures. It was a fun party and being the only male in attendance boosted my male ego. I must say that the most beautiful of all the beauties was the hostess my Linda. Thanks honey you represent us so well.
