The Bride and Her Hareem

Meet lovely Chantel the bride of the hour. I think the pictures will say it all but we had a fab evening here at CasaLinda Cottage and Indian Ashram. We even had a man servant - AliBabaLinda. The theme for the shower was based in Proverbs 22 - She clothes herself in purple and fine linen and makes coverings for her bed.....We all pitched in and bought all the bedding that the bride had on her registry and she was lavished with gorgeous pillows, pashminas and all kinds of accessories for the bedroom and her wardrobe. The weather cooperated and we were able to serve the food outdoors between the guest suite and the gazebo so the ladies could sit in the gazebo or the party room. We even had a fire pit burning. My Indian daughters Camille and Radica dressed the ladies in sari and Radica danced for us. Camille made authentic chai which we enjoyed with our cupcakes. We have started a tradition wherein we give the bride our blessing which we write out on a decorated card to put into the special book prepared for the occasion. It's a very touching ritual and I know the bride feels the love. Just imagine the smell of sweet incense, beautiful Indian music, candles everywhere and some mouth watering food and you are halfway there to our memorable evening. Namaste!
Post Script: On these occasions I wish that there were three of me. The hostess part wants to hang out and visit, the mother part loves to care for the chicks and make sure they have what they need and the photographer wants to capture it all. I'm sure I appeared as a whirling dervish - but I'm a girl who loves to whirl and I had a great time.
