I finished 'my little room'.
It went from a yellow to a soft grey.
It went from a yellow to a soft grey.
I replaced the couch with a little bed.
I don't have room for both even though both have their advantages.
I love flopping on a couch with its arms and its big pillowy backside.
I decided I wanted a special place for my girl company to rest.
I knew my first guest would be Gina.
It turned out to be Sara.
When she went to the hospital from here Sister Sandra took her place.
Sara returned and recuperated.
She brought her flowers with her.
Sophia came for a sleepover last night.
She brought her overnight case and settled her belongings into the dresser.
Just like Auntie Sara did.
Just like Auntie Sara did.
Primarily this is my quiet room that houses my computer.
I am sitting in here blogging.
I took a nap earlier.
Sophia and I even made a fort this morning.
Imagine.
It's 'my little room'.
I get to do whatever I please.
I listen to music.
I do some yoga.
I read my books.
I study my Bible and pray.
I talk on the phone.
Judy and Huong sat on the bed together last weekend and chatted with me.
Cathie laid on the bed and tried the bolster under her knees.

It overlooks the garden.
Doesn't get much better than that.
I found my vintage valances and rescued them just as I was about to recycle some fabrics.
I had made them for another house from some vintage fabric I bought in Vancouver.
They were out of date then so they are still out of date.
I love vintage.
I discovered some primer that goes on to slick surfaces.
I painted my desk without having to sand it.
I will be turning the closet into a sewing nook.
I love pounding nails into the walls and adding ephemera.
I will do my best to keep this room nail hole free.
I will do the deed inside the closet instead.
It may turn out to be turquoise and red in there.
Or violet and green.
With all kinds of picture frames and ephemera on the walls.

You never know...
But it will be a joy and blessing.
If only you could see behind the door right now!!!
I'll be sure to take a before picture.

P.S.
Speaking of 'before' pics.
Here's the corner before the little bed.
I knew it was temporary so I had a ball pounding nails.
You can see the fabric collage project that I was working on that
now rests above the dresser.
"Be Still My Soul"
Goodness, how I need to rehearse those words at times!
My little room is a good place to practice the stilling of the soul!

LOVE the beautiful room!! Thank you for sharing the pics.
