There have been comings and goings and plantings and buildings around the Peragallo home (as per usual I guess you could say). We are preparing for the joy of summer when we get more company than usual due to the lovely weather. Grampa never runs out of inspiration and I can't wait to show you pictures of his newest project. Sophia is three and already mortgage free. She has her own house to play in right next to the gazebo and her parent's home. That means that Grama's playhouse gets to crank it up a notch and is in the process of becoming more adult friendly. Inside the house I am planning a new space to accommodate overnight guests and I found the sweet little Victorian bed to doll up my room. It was in a consignment shop called ReFeather Your Nest in Mt. Vernon, Washington where Bob and I stopped for lunch after his VA appointment in Seattle. Since I didn't have the truck I had to come back for it a few days later. For some reason the border guard could care less and just waved me through. I was so thankful.
When I first inquired about the bed the shopkeeper said that it was "Linda's Victorian Bed". It obviously had my name on it! It was previously owned by the shop owner Linda who had a Victorian Mansion in LaConner that was once featured in Victoria magazine. I am waiting to get more details about its origins as she wasn't in when I shopped. I have a stack of Victoria magazines that Mom kept through the years so I'm hoping that I have a copy of the month that the above mentioned was featured. I always enjoy having a story attached to my belongings.
Funny, I'm not really into Victorian but I felt this piece was understated and suited what I do like in vintage pieces.
It seems that in our family Grandmothers have blue rooms so I think I may keep up the tradition and choose a blue based paint color. We shall see...and so shall you when I end up posting pictures of the finished room.
I see painting in my future..........
