Grama and Her Babies

Greetings from the ends of the earth. That's how far away I feel from life as I knew it two weeks ago before I flew away to visit my grandchildren. I have had such a wonderful time with my daughters and their families. And believe me, when I get back home I will feel like my family is that far away from me again. This is life as it is for us at this time so that is that. I am thankful for the time I had to spend with them. We did the ordinary things of life and it filled my heart. I have a couple more days here in Calgary before I fly back home to be with my Bob. Thankfully, Gina will be bringing Sam and Lola to the coast to attend a wedding in November so it made the goodbyes bearable. I have to announce that Sophia now calls me Grama and she says it so sweetly. She is a girl after my own heart. I never had a little boy so Sam brings me pleasure in ways I've never experienced. Lola is everything we hoped for and more. This is life at its best. Guelph is a lovely little community that I could easily call home. It has everything that appeals to me. Calgary is another story because of the weather. It is snowing here already! Laura had to wait until the defroster and windshield wipers were able to melt the ice off the front window because who would have an ice scraper in the car already? One hour in Walmart and this is what we came out to. Crazy. I didn't go to Canmore to stay at Sara's this time around but Sara is coming back over tomorrow to spend the night here as we gear up for Sophia's second birthday party on Saturday. Her actual birthday is on the 13th but the celebration is on the weekend. Such fun is planned. Laura is having a Strawberry Shortcake theme party for Sophia who is a big fan of Miss Shortcake. Check out the pink coat from Grampa Bob that Sophia is wearing on her way out shopping. We went to Build A Bear with Auntie Sara and she came home with a little bunny which was named Pepper. That event demands a blog post all its own. One big disappointment I have is that I didn't have my camera when Sam visited the community fire hall but the experience is etched into my memory.
Well, this is all for now...I'll catch you all later when I'm back home with Mac.
