What a wonderful day we had! The Joy Club finished the last chapter of our book, "A Long Obedience In The Same Direction" by Eugene Peterson. It is a study of the Song of Ascents, fifteen in all, starting with Psalm 120. We have been meeting since October and have kindled such a beautiful bond amongst us and have learned many precious things from the Lord but especially have drawn closer to Jesus. Joy has many meanings to us but it especially stands for "Jesus O Yeah!" We ended this chapter (no pun intended) of our study by writing our own Songs of Ascent and ascending to the top of Burnaby Mountain for a luncheon at Horizons Restaurant. We intended to walk up the hill singing just like the Jewish Pilgrims did on their way to Zion but it was SNOWING! Nevertheless, Judy provided us with spring tulips and these lovely Brighton charms.
