T-I-M-B-E-R !!!!!!!!!

This is the tree in our front yard. I had to walk way down the street to get it in my lens.

Months and months ago the city came by and asked if we would want it removed. We said, "yes". It was a really messy tree and it posed a hazard to our house and the neighbors around us as these trees are known to be blown over during storms. They marked it for destruction and left it. Yesterday we got a knock on the door and within two hours or less it was completely gone. Bob put a sign out saying "Free Firewood" and that's gone now too! It was really interesting to watch them get the tree down. I didn't even have to move my car out of the driveway!  The first guy went up in his bucket and chain sawed the branches off and the three workers scuttled around and put the pieces into the wood eating machinery. The second guy went up in the bucket and then climbed out onto the trunk with a rope around his waist and spikes in his shoes. What a day job! Our necks were craned full tilt as we watched him. It added interest to to our day, that's for sure! We like the results too. It really opened up the front garden.
